Dr. Shivatra Chutima Talchai

Dr. Shivatra Chutima Talchai’s work in stem cell therapy led her to find a better cure for diabetes and was recognized as a break-through, as a result, she was awarded Outstanding Early Investigator by the American Society of Endocrinology. She won Druckenmiller fellowship from New York Stem Cell Foundation, and has completed her Ph.D. training from College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University Medical Center, New York, USA. She designed stem cell therapy that used patients’ own intestinal stem cells to secrete insulin and restore glucose homeostasis in diabetic conditions. She co-invented a world patent in method of treating diabetes that has been licensed to pharmaceutical companies and a Biotech Startup. She has published in Cell and Nature Genetics. Her works have been cited more than 400 times, and have been discussed in Science, New England Journal of Medicine, the New York Times, The Scientist, The German Public Radio to name a few. As a sufferer from degenerated joints, she is very passionate about regenerative medicine. She wants to create products that help people see again.

Dr. Sirinrath Sirivisoot has developed 11-year expertise in nanomaterials and regenerative medicine. She has investigated biomaterials, scaffolds, and their interactions with live cells. She received her PhD from a nanomedicine laboratory at Brown University, and created her postdoctoral work at the Wake Forest Institute of Regenerative Medicine. She co-invented a world and european patent in method of improving and detecting bone growth which has been licensed to a startup company. Her publications related to nanomedicine have been cited more than 400 times. Her works have been reviewed in IEEE Spectrum, Popular Mechanics, MIT Technology Review (Biomedicine), and others. She has been invited to review articles for "Nanomedicine: Nanotechnology, Biology, and Medicine", "ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces", "Carbon", "Nanoscale", and so on. She has served in advisory board and as chairwoman of International Materials Research Conference of Materials Research Society, and International Conference on Modern Materials and Technologies. Her work has been highlighted on the journal issue cover of Interface Focus, The Royal Society Publishing.
